Instructional design allows to create effective outreach programs. During the COVID-19 pandemic some population has been particularly at risk due to lack of access to resources and information. In the midst of the crisis, Heart-to-Heart International, a Kansas-based non-profit with a mission of making healthcare accessible, designed a youth public health education program. The goal of the program was to prepare high school ambassadors to conduct outreach within their communities and educate about the causes, symptoms, prevention and treatment of COVID-19. The program also developed the participants’ critical thinking and communication skills. As an instructional designer working on the project, I created a series of training videos, worksheets and e-learning modules. I used Moovly to create the training videos below.
